Self-taught, born in 1957 at Choisy-le-Roi, Pierre Pesnon started learning the guitar from the age of 15. He was mainly influenced by such masters as John Renbourn, Bert Jansch, Gary Peterson, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed Hubbard and Marcel Dadi with whom he appeared in concert on several occasions.

The man’s approcah is unusual. He practices long-distance hiking though his heart has been 60% incapacitated by two infarcts. Struck again in 2005, Pierre has stood up to his feet another time and keeps on hiking.

His Corps-Mouvement follows its course tirelessly to fight exclusion. And his Corps-Artistique takes us onto the roads of Pablo Neruda, Arthur Rimbaud, Ravel, Bach, Tarrega, Barrios… crossing those of Blues and Middle-Jazz and the paths of his own compositions, improvisations, arrangements, texts and poems. All of this being heart-pierced by the ten steel-strings of his unexpected and flamboyant Ravel’s Bolero, already acclaimed by both the public the press.

With his guitars this man carries us on his finger-tips to the end of our dreams, and we feel good. As an accomplished artist he knows when to stop and we’re left with pearls in our ears. Solo or accompanied he will question his musicality on other themes, on the spur of his inspiration or gaiety. He will bite into the music, with or without his nails, now raging, now tender, he will let us taste it and make us feel like dancing. In-between the difficulties he lets the music breathe, because it is human, like him,. First and foremost a servant of music, he has chosen the guitar because it allows him to modulate, to carve the notes at will. He may break them sharp or let them hover forever: he’s an expert! When you know the man a little, you can hear his laughter in his pauses; his hands are the extension of his soul, and his love of sounds travels through them to us. His first album had the lightness of air, the next took us into space. Let’s give time to time and follow him. And if you ask the next generation of experienced musicians who influenced them, among others, I’m sure they will name Pierre Pesnon.
